Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 15, 2026
1. Overview
Cobblewiki ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights under Swiss data protection law (nDSG — Bundesgesetz über den Datenschutz) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
This policy covers cobblewiki.com (the "Site"). Cobblewiki is operated as a sole proprietorship based in Switzerland.
2. Data We Collect
2.1 Analytics
We use Umami Analytics, a privacy-focused, open-source analytics tool. Umami does not use cookies and does not collect personally identifiable information. It collects anonymised, aggregated data such as page views, referrers, device type, and browser — solely to understand how the Site is used. No data is shared with third parties for advertising purposes through this tool.
We also use Google Analytics to measure aggregate site traffic for ad network review and product improvement. Google Analytics is loaded with Consent Mode enabled and analytics storage denied by default. Google Analytics cookies are only enabled if you choose to allow analytics.
2.2 Server Logs
Our hosting infrastructure may automatically record standard server log data, including your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. This data is retained for a limited period for security and operational purposes and is not used to identify you personally.
2.3 Contact
If you contact us by email at hello@cobblewiki.com, we will receive and store your email address and the content of your message in order to respond to you. We do not add you to any mailing list without your explicit consent.
2.4 No User Accounts
The Site currently does not offer user accounts or require registration. No passwords, profile data, or personal credentials are collected. If account features are introduced in the future, this policy will be updated accordingly.
3. Sponsored Content & Advertising
The Site may now or in the future display Sponsored Content or advertisements served by third-party ad networks. These networks may set their own cookies or use similar tracking technologies (pixels, device fingerprinting) to serve targeted advertisements and measure ad performance, independently of Cobblewiki.
When Sponsored Content is present on the Site, we will inform you via a consent mechanism as required by applicable law. Third-party advertisers operate under their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review. Cobblewiki does not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers.
4. Cookies
The Site uses local storage to remember your theme preference and analytics consent choice. Umami is cookieless. Google Analytics cookies are disabled by default and are only enabled if you choose to allow analytics in the consent prompt. You can clear your browser site data to reset this choice.
5. Legal Basis for Processing
Where Swiss nDSG or GDPR applies, we process personal data on the following bases:
- Legitimate interest — for cookieless analytics, server logs, and site security.
- Contract performance — to respond to contact requests.
- Consent — for Google Analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or personalised content, where required.
6. Data Retention
We retain data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy. Server logs are typically retained for up to 90 days. Email correspondence is retained until no longer needed for the purpose for which it was received.
7. Your Rights
Under applicable Swiss and EU data protection law, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten").
- Object to or restrict processing of your data.
- Data portability, where applicable.
- Lodge a complaint with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) in Switzerland or your local supervisory authority.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@cobblewiki.com. We will respond within 30 days.
8. International Data Transfers
Our analytics and hosting providers may process data outside of Switzerland or the European Economic Area. Where this occurs, we ensure adequate safeguards are in place in accordance with applicable law (e.g. standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions).
9. Children's Privacy
The Site is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
